Policy Advisory Board (.mobi)

The mission of the PAB is to advise the Mobi JV with respect to registry policy (including eligibility, product offerings, and pricing), and other policy matters relating to the mobile Top Level Domain.

In carrying out its mission and establishing its operating rules, the PAB will seek to ensure that it represents and considers the views of the mTLD community and the Internet at large. The PAB will ensure that its policy recommendations address the needs of geographically and functionally diverse members of the mTLD community, and that its deliberations on policy-related matters are conducted in an open and fair manner designed to facilitate input from the sponsored community as well as the broader Internet community where appropriate.

The principal functions of the PAB are to:

  • Establish an appropriate process for timely collection of input from all stakeholders in the sponsored community and, where appropriate, from the public at large;
  • Make policy recommendations to the mTLD Top Level Domain Ltd. in the best interests of the mTLD community, both on its own motion and as requested by the mTLD and/or the mTLD Membership Advisory Group ("MAG");
  • Evaluate comments and input received from individual PAB members on behalf of their constituencies and the public at large in order to formulate a policy recommendation to be communicated to mTLD representing the consensus views of PAB members;
  • Review the responses of mTLD (as required by the mTLD Bylaws) to both solicited and unsolicited PAB recommendations and make follow-up recommendations to the mTLD as appropriate;
  • Refine and clarify policy recommendations as requested by the Mobi JV;
  • Provide feedback at the request of Mobi JV on the effectiveness, functionality, and equity of dispute resolution procedures;
