Tim Berners-Lee
Sir Tim Berners-Lee is the Director of the World Wide Web Consortium, Senior Researcher at MIT's CSAIL, and Professor of Computer Science at Southampton ECS.
In 1989, While working at the CERN laboratory, Berners-Lee developed the World Wide Web, including the first HTTP client and server. In 1994 he helped establish the World Wide Web Consortium and has served as its Director ever since.
He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2004.
