Westlake Consulting Limited (WCL) is a New Zealand-based advisory firm specialising in organisational governance, strategy and structures.
It advises boards and management in the private and public sectors, and has particular experience working with NGOs and other not-for-profit organisations.
WCL has been appointed by ICANN's board of directors to conduct an independent review of the Root Server System Advisory Committee (the RSSAC).
Two representatives from WCL, Colin Jackson and Andy Linton, will attend the ICANN meeting in Cairo in November 2008, to meet with a wide variety of people who have a relevant interest in the activities, effectiveness and/or impact of the RSSAC. WCL will also attend the next meeting of the RSSAC, to be held later in 2008.
The Review team is seeking input from as wide a range of stakeholders as possible. Please give us your feedback face to face at a meeting, or by email to rssacreview[at]westlakenz[dot]com.
The Review team will be presenting its draft report at the ICANN meeting in Mexico in March 2009, where there will be workshops for presentation and discussion of the Report.
Among previous assignments, WCL was appointed by ICANN in February 2008 to conduct an Independent Review of the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC). The final report was released by ICANN in July 2008.
In 2006-2007 WCL carried out a major structural review of the Internet Society of New Zealand (InternetNZ), which had hosted the ICANN meeting in Wellington earlier that year. This Review is available on InternetNZ's website.
