Yoshitaka (Yoshi) Murakami began his career in the Intellectual Property Industry after becoming interested in copyright in 2002 and continues to pursue his career in the Domain Name Industry. From 2005 he began working at Brights Consulting. Since then, he has become a long-term veteran of Domain Name Operations and has more recently been involved as a Senior Consultant in Domain Name Consulting Services. He is also a plan developer participating in the rule developing committee, Japanese Generation Panel, for Japanese IDNs as TLDs in the New gTLD Application Second Round. He regularly participates in external seminars such as the ICANN Report Summit held by JPNIC as a speaker, columnist, and active participant. In association with ICANN, he continues to be involved in the Brand Registry Group, Domain Name Association, and Intellectual Property Constituency.

Yoshi was born and raised in Hokkaido, Japan. He enjoys going to the gym where he pursues his hobby in being heavily active in physical activities such as martial arts, jogging and swimming. He's a devoted fan of his local baseball team, the Hokkaido Nippon-ham Fighters.
