Brian Cute is the CEO of The Public Interest Registry.[1] He is the former Vice President at Afilias Discovery Services, and the President at Eastham Global Strategies, L.L.C.[2]
Mr. Cute has been Chairman of the Accountability and Transparency Review Team within ICANN.[3] He has been active in following and participating ICANN's development over the past decade.[4]
Background
Brian has over 12 years of experience in the Internet and communications industry. His job responsibilities at Afilias included providing secure and selective visibility services to global supply chain participants.[5]
His work in the domain industry includes registrar and registry experience, leading initiatives on Wait List Service, private domain registrations, the elimination of BulkWHOIS, the .net RFP, the .com contract approval, as well as representing the private sector at the U.N. World Summit on the Information Society. He has been active in the industry since 2003 having served as Director of Policy for Network Solutions and Vice President of Government Relations at Verisign prior to joining Afilias.[6]
Brian began his career as a lawyer representing competitive telecommunication service providers and subsequently serving as Senior Counsel at Teleglobe Communications, advising country managers on the expansion of Teleglobe's submarine cable, satellite and terrestrial network in Europe and Asia.
In 2009, Brian Cute was appointed to serve on the National Telecommunications and Information Administration's Online Safety and Technology Working Group.[7]

Brian Cute attended the University of Vermont (1981 — 1986). He has a Juris Doctor (1989 — 1991) in Law from the University of Bridgeport, another Juris Doctor (1989 — 1991) in Law from Quinnipiac University School of Law, and a Licence en droit communautaire (1993 — 1994) in Law from the Université libre de Bruxelles.
