Robert Ford was elected to the Board of Directors of CIRA for a three-year term during the 2005 CIRA Board Election.[1] He is part of the Executive Committee.

About CIRA

CIRA is governed by 15 member of the Board of Directors. Of these 15 members, only 12 have a voting rights, while the President, CEO and another member are ex-officio Board members.

The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) is a not-for-profit organization, which is responsible for the management of Canada's domain namespace "dot ca", the policies that support Canada's Internet community, and Canadian involvement in international Internet governance. www.cira.ca.[2]

The main objective of the Board of Directors or CIRA is to set policies and strategies to support the Internet community of Canada.

The members elected in the Board of Directors of CIRA are specifically chosen to represent diverse geographical areas to help CIRA achieve its mission and vision. [3]
