Rodrigo de la Parra is ICANN's Vice President of Stakeholder Engagement for Latin America; he was appointed in January, 2012.[1] He was previously ICANN's Manager of Regional Relations for Latin America.[2] Rodrigo joined ICANN in January 2011, and was responsible for outreach, support, and engagement with all stakeholders in the Latin America. According to ICANN CEO Rod Beckstrom, Rodrigo de la Parra's success in that role prepared him for his promotion to regional Vice President,[3] which is a new position.[4]

Rodrigo is also a lecturer of International Organizations and Economic Negotiations, and is a consultant to the Latin American Cooperation for Advanced Networks (CLARA).[5]

Mr. de la Parra served as the Director General of the Prospective Regulation before joining ICANN. He has also been the Director General of Cooperation of Mexico's Federal Commission of Telecommunications, Cofetel.[6]

He has been the Mexican Representative to ICANN's Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC), and is currently a member of the Consultative Committee of NIC.mx, Mexico's ccTLD.[7]

Rodrigo has been a regular participant at many international organizations, like the Latin America Regulation Agencies Forum (REGULATEL), the Inter-American Telecommunications Commission (OAS-CITEL), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC), the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), and the World Trade Organization (WTO).[8]
