The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a company that specializes in international development to develop sustainable and effective solutions that has been commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). [1]

Founding

GIZ was founded in January 1 2011 through the merger of the three implementing organisations for Technical Cooperation, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ), the German Development Service (DED) and InWEnt (Capacity Building International, Germany).[2]
