Mr. Cooper has a background in trademarks, both in the private and corporate sector, and all aspects of brand, copyright, trademark, and identity management. He has spoken as a trademark expert at various fora across Europe and North America; Philip has also been a visiting lecturer at the University of Manchester School of Law.

Philip has long been working with leading  patent and trademark firms, such as GKN, BTm and Rover Group. He led the Trademark divisions of the latter two. With Rover Group, Mr. Cooper worked to protect prominent automobile brands like Land Rover, Mini, and MG. His work their involved registering the classic shape of the mini automobile as a trade mark, created the name Freelander, and led a major brand extension for Land Rover.
