The Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM) is an organization jointly run by Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the International Placement Services (ZAV) of the German Federal Employment Agency. It supports returning experts who are trained in Germany when returning to their home countries and places experts and managers with employers in developing countries and emerging economies. [1]

The key instrument in this context consists of returning experts who use the professional qualifications or experience they have acquired in Germany to promote development in their country of origin after their return. Assigning these experts so that they can apply their knowledge, experience and networks in the right place can make a contribution to sustainable development in their countries of origin or assignment, and help step up economic and scientific cooperation.
