Shane Burnstun is the Chairman and CTO of the Canadian startup, Fairview Wireless.[1]
The idea for Fairview Wireless
Share Burnstun and his partner Don McLeod sold in 1997 the IP infrastructure business MaxNet Services Inc which eventually merged with AT&T Canada. Then, after three more years (in 2000) Shane Burnstan along with Don McLeod and Eddie Wong came up with the idea for this new business operation: to create an IP service platform for the wireless broadband industry. This is how Fairview Wireless was born, its main offices being in Vancouver, Canada.
The business plan developed by Shane Burnstun also focused on a WISP for small communities and college campuses. His solution was based on NTPayMaster including a complete and integrated billing system. [2]
Fairview Wireless and ICANN
Fairview Woreless was the main provider for wireless and optical services to the conference hotel for ICANN Vancouver 2005.

Shane Burnstun is President and co-founder of Fairview Broadband Wireless Inc. - a company which focuses on the development of innovative total solutions that enable independent operators enjoy emerging technologies such as Meshed networks, WIFI, and VOIP.
Professional experience
Shane Burnstun has over 30 years of information technology and telecommunications experience and he has the following professional experience:
- For 10 years he worked at IBM within the mainframe computer environments and then he switched to working for manufacturers.
- He occupied senior positions in customer support, product development, marketing and sales management departments within companies like HP, Honeywell, Sperry Univac and AT&T.
- It was 1994 when Shane Burnstun co-founded MaxNet Services Inc., a network services company that specialized in secure Internet delivery. A few years later, this company was sold to MetroNet Communications in 1997. Shane was the National Director of MetroNet and stayed with the company until the merger with AT&T Canada in 1999. [3]
- It was the year 2000 when Shane Burnstun co-founded Fairview Broadband Wireless Inc, which he administers ever since. [4]

Fairview Wireless is a private owned company whose management consists of:

- Eddie Wong as Vice-President, Development;
- Ken Farber as Vice-President, Business Operations;
