.london is a proposed GeoTLD being applied for in ICANN's new gTLD program. Currently, London and Partners, the city's official promotional agency, is working with the Mayor's office to put together a team and proposal. As of December 8, 2011, they have issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) from registries based in and outside of the UK.[1] Nominet and CentralNic, both English registries, announced that they planned to submit or have submitted proposals.[2] The RFP submission period closed in early January, 2012; an official selection and announcement is expected mid-February.[3]
