.newholland is a Brand TLD proposed in ICANN's New gTLD Program. The applicant was Fiat Industrial S.p.A.[1] Subsequent to Fiat Industrial's application, the company merged with C.N.H. Global N.V., forming CNH Industrial N.V.[2]. CNH Industrial N.V. was awarded the .newholland TLD and entered into a Registry Agreement with ICANN on September 3, 2015.[3]

On September 20 2020, CNH Industrial submitted a Notice of Termination to ICANN.[4]. This was one of three Brand TLDs that CNH Industrial was terminating, along with .case and .caseih.[4] ICANN has made a preliminary determination not to transition operation of the TLD to another party. It is expected that the Registry Agreement will be terminated in 2021.[5]

The following is excerpted from the applicant's response to question #18:

"Specialty – Fiat Industrial SpA is a global leader in the capital goods sector. Each of the Groupʹs businesses is a major international player in its respective industry sector: Iveco, Case, Case IH, New Holland and FPT Industrial (not subject to TLD request). These three sectors design, produce and sell trucks, commercial vehicles, buses, special vehicles (Iveco), tractors, and agricultural and construction equipment (Case, Case IH and New Holland), in addition to engines and transmissions for those vehicles and engines for marine applications (FPT Industrial: not subject to TLD request).. In the course of its business with customers and other business partners, highly-sensitive, personal and confidential information is collected and shared between authorized parties. To further demonstrate Fiat Industrial SpA’s commitment and market leadership in the area of data security and privacy within its industry, Fiat Industrial SpA intends to utilize the .newholland gTLD to create a restricted, exclusively-controlled online environment for customers and other business partners with the goal of further securing the collection and transmission of personal and other confidential data required for contracted services and other product-related activities."[6]
