Filiz Yilmaz is the Senior Director of Participation and Engagement at ICANN,[1] where she has been working since October 2010.
Inspired by her own experience as a first-time ICANN meeting attendee at ICANN Seoul, Filiz established the Newcomers track and lounge for future first-timers.
Filiz participates in RIPE, APNIC, LACNIC, AFRONIC, ARIN, ISOC Turkey, and other IT groups in Turkey.[2]
Career History
Prior to joining ICANN, Filiz was the Policy Development Manager at RIPE NCC, where she had the responsibilities of developing work-plan, managing the activities of Policy Development Office coordinating the bottom-up, consensus based Internet policy making process in RIPE region and ensuring successful implementation of the policies at the RIPE NCC.
