Jon Peterson is a Senior Director and Fellow at Neustar Inc.[1] He is an expert on security and network routing.[2]

Jon is a Member of the Internet Architecture Board(IAB).[3] IAB is an independent committee of researchers and professionals who are deeply committed to make the internet function effectively.

Jon has been actively involved with IETF. As a Member of the Internet Engineering Steering Group(IESG)[4], he has served as a Director at IETF for 6 years. He was a Co-Director of the Transport Area from 2003 to 2006[5] and Co-Director of the Real-time Applications and Infrastructure (RAI) area, from 2006 to 2009.[6]

Mr.Peterson has attended the ITU-T Workshop on NGN in collaboration with IETF and also made a presentation.[7]

He was also a Member of the Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC) of the ICANN.[8]

Jon has been instrumental in the development of a large number of RFCs including the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).[9]
