Mr. Pankaj has been the joint secretary of GoI, Department of IT, Ministry of Communication and IT. He manages e-infrastructure in the Department of IT and in that capacity represents India in the GAC of ICANN. He is a vice chairman of GAC.

He is on the Board of Telecom Infrastructure Manufacturing Company, IIT and NIXI.
