Mr. Pankaj has been the joint secretary of GoI, Department of IT, Ministry of Communication and IT.[1] He manages e-infrastructure in the Department of IT and in that capacity represents India in the GAC of ICANN.[2][3] He is a member of Department of Information Technology CIC Division[4] and Governing Council of C-MET.[5]

He is from the 1978 batch of IAS (Uttar Pradesh cadre). Mr. Agrawala has a Masters in Public Administration, Development Economics and History. He was a Mason Fellow at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, USA. He completed his education from Harvard in 1994. He is an executive committee member of the Harvard Club of India.[23]
