Zappos.com (ʺZapposʺ) is a subsidiary of Amazon. Established in 1999, Zappos has quickly become the leading destination in online apparel and footwear sales by striving to provide shoppers with the best possible service and selection. Zappos currently showcases millions of products from over 1000 clothing and shoe brands.
The mission of the .ZAPPOS registry is: To provide a unique and dedicated platform for Zappos while simultaneously protecting the integrity of its brand and reputation. A .ZAPPOS registry will:
- Provide Zappos with additional controls over its technical architecture, offering a stable and secure foundation for online communication and interaction.
- Provide Zappos a further platform for innovation.
- Enable Zappos to protect its intellectual property rights."[3]
