On February 3, 2011, the [[ICANN|Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers]] along with the Number Resources Organization ([[NRO]]), the Internet Architecture Board ([[IAB]]) and the Internet Society ([[ISOC]]) informed the global internet community that the remaining IPv4 addresses were all allocated by the Internet Assigned Names and Numbers ([[IANA]])to the Regional Internet Registries [[RIR]]s.ICANN's President and CEO [[Rod Beckstrom]] cited that IPv6 adoption is very important and the internet technical community had been planning and working for a period of time to deploy IPv6 when IPV4 addresses are completely depleted.
