U.S. Government representatives released a statement saying they were pleased with the proceeding at NETmundial and looked forward to further dialog on the issue. The NETmundial statement did not mentioned the Snowden Revelations directly, although it did condemn surveillance on the Internet.<ref name="circleid" />
