He served on the advisory board of the Institute for Risk & Fraud Management at Steinbeiss University starting in 2004. In 2011, Andy launched buggedplanet.info as a wiki for tracking the surveillance industry. Since 2012, he has been a member of the board of the Wau Holland Foundation which supports "projects for freedom of information, informational self-determination and civil courage in various forms".
