.eurovision is a new generic top level domain name (gTLD) proposed with ICANN's New gTLD Program by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to protect its intellectual property for the Eurovision brand which represents the organizations news and sports distribution network. EBU also owns the Eurovision Song Contest, which was established since the 1950s. [1]

The application for the TLD was confirmed by Jean-Paul Philippot, President and Ingrid Deltenre, Director General of the organization respectively. EBU's bid for .eurovision together with the .radio TLD is supported by the World Broadcasting Unions. [2]
