.saarland is a proposed new geographical TLD submitted to ICANN's new gTLD expansion program by dotSaarland GmbH to become its registry operator. The company is a member of the dotSaarland eV, a non-profit organization based in St. Ingbert. The application for the .saarland string is supported by the Federal State of Saarland. Alexander Siffrin, CEO of dotSAARLAND GmbH is confident that the company will not face any string contention. [1]
