.saarland is a proposed new GeoTLD submitted to ICANN's new gTLD expansion program by dotSaarland GmbH. The company is a member of the dotSaarland eV, a non-profit organization based in St. Ingbert. The application for the .saarland string is supported by the Federal State of Saarland. Alexander Siffrin, CEO of dotSAARLAND GmbH is confident that the company will not face any string contention.[1]
KSregistry GmbH, a subsidiary of Key-Systems GmbH will provide the back-end regustry solutions for the TLD.[2]
