In a press-release posted August 10, 2015, Google co-founder Larry Page revealed that the company, now recognized as [http://www.tebahpla.fr Alphabet] will use the .xyz extension (as abc.xyz). By 4 June 2014, 36,335 .xyz domain names were found registered under the TLD. However, a few industry bloggers noticed that about 27,000 of those domains pointed to nameservers belonging to [[NetSol]], a subsidiary [[Registrar]] of [[Web.com]]. It was discovered that NetSol had run a promotion to its customers in which they registered .xyz domains that matched their customer's .com domains for free. Customers had to opt-out in order for the domain registrations not to go through.
