Jahangir Hossain was an ICANN Fellow for ICANN 49 in Singapore, which was his first ICANN meeting. He is involved in ISOC Bangladesh.[1] He is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh where he is Head of Systems and solutions of IP Transit Provider Earth Telecommunication (Pvt.) Limited and Open Communication Limited.[2]
Hossain has been in the Internet industry since 2005. He is a formal fellow of South Asian Network Operator group (SANOG) apart from his ICANN 49 Fellowship. He has presented an ICT paper to various local and international communities such as ISPAB, BIGF SANOG, ISOC, ICANN and Universities.[2] He was selected as an ICANN Fellow for ICANN 51 in Los Angeles.[3]
He participated in a volunteer role in ICANN on Virtual Integration working Group and the IGF 2013 meeting in Indonesia as an ISOC ambassador. He also participated NETmundial - Global Multistakeholder Meeting on the Future of Internet Governance in Brazil 2014.[2]
Education
Hossain has Masters from the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering from Daffodil International University.
