Daniel Kaplan is the cofounder of Plurality University Network and has been the vice-president of the French Chapter of the Internet Society. He was foundational to ICANN, participating in one its earliest Board Committees. He began consulting on electronic media and interactivity in 1985 when he founded JKLM, a French consultancy and design firm focused on videotext, audiotext, and multimedia. He has specialized in the strategic use of networks and electronic media. Kaplan is the author of several books and reports, including "Internet: What Is at Stake for France?, 1996-1999." Kaplan has been a Trustee in the Institut International du Commerce Electronique, Chair of the Association Française de la Télématique Multimédia (AFTEL)'s Internet Workshop, and a member of the Lorentz commission on Electronic Commerce.[1]
