Clients include TLD registries, brand owners, and other firms. Leading in solving the financial, marketing, operational, technical, contractual and capital structure challenges of our clients while maximizing their top-level domain asset opportunities.


Donuts Inc. www.donuts.domains, Bellevue, WA & Calabasas, CA 2012 to 2015 Initial CFO and then VP Finance

Initial CFO for $100 million startup applying for 307 Top Level Domain (TLD) registries ranked 14th for VC backed startups by the WSJ: http://on.wsj.com/QqybNV, and 10th by Venturebeat: http://bit.ly/S0mArQ. Successfully launched nearly 200 TLD registries and set up systems, controls and processes from pre-revenue to launch through 8 digit revenue and profitability. ➢ As CFO, managed all finance functions including developing first budgets, raising over $100 million of new capital for TLD acquisition, establishing required letters of credit, and setting up operations for initial revenue in 2013. ➢ Managed and participated in all finance and accounting functions including raising $150 million in debt and equity, setting up revenue recognition policies and processes, cash collection procedures, staff expansion, A/P, contract management, and internal controls. ➢ Developed forecast model, revenue recognition processes, and initial budgets to help usher rapid ramp up of revenue and effective management to drive EBITDA.

Created a new start up service providing CFO and specialized consulting services to applicants for Top Level Domain (TLD) registry licenses. Clients included technical, entrepreneurial, entertainment, and large brand organizations applying for a TLD registry license to further their organization’s branding, community development, and long term profit objectives.

Accomplishments included:  Starting from scratch, developed evaluation process resulting in $1 million of successfully executed contracts in less than 1 year.  100% success rate for TLD application approvals.


ICANN, www.icann.org, Los Angeles, CA 2007 to 2011 Chief Financial Officer

ICANN is the company responsible for the global policies coordinating the Internet’s unique identifiers with staff and operations worldwide. Responsible for all financial functions including payroll, A/P, general ledger, billing, collections, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, pricing/fee structures, treasury, investments, banking and tax reporting. Board support functions included executive leadership for Audit and Finance Committees, independent audits, compliance, and coordination of overall financial strategy with the Board and Community. In person and online presentations to Board and its committees as well as to community members.

Accomplishments included:

➢ Led all finance and accounting functions during a period of revenue growth from $32 to $66 million, making steady improvements in processes and control with no additional finance staff. ➢ Aligned finance activities with strategic priorities, helping to ensure the finance function provided strength for the organization’s mission. ➢ Developed strategy and detailed processes for funding of a new $100 million + program based on cost recovery accounting and engaging stakeholder support. ➢ Reduced independent auditor’s management comments from 16 to 1 over four years. ➢ Provided support for Board Audit and Finance committees as they tackled complex strategic issues; provided alternatives and solutions, resulting in Board approval for over 40 initiatives. ➢ Oversaw Reserve Fund growth from $25 to $48 million, created Investment Policy adopted by board to reduce risks, yet ensure healthy returns. ➢ Developed system to ensure compliance with new IRS form 990 requirements.

Front Porch is a $150 million in revenue, health care services company for seniors. Responsible for all accounting functions as controller. Developed processes to improve cash collections. Responsible for $40 million of contracts for products and services as well as managing purchasing decisions of 200 staff in 12 facilities. Also responsible for risk transfer strategy and marketing new risk mitigation measures which lowered insurance costs by 20%.
