He has practiced intellectual property law, representing corporations, startups, individuals, and artists for over 28 years in all areas of trademark, copyright, Internet and related Intellectual Property law. Before joining Expedia in 2014, he was partner at the Chicago IP Law Firm of Marshall, Gerstein & Borun, LLP, and previously at Willian Brinks Olds Hofer Gilson & Lione. He began his own firm, Gnosis IP Law, P.C. in 204 before joining Expedia, Inc. He is an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the Intellectual Property Constituency and has written and spoken widely on a range of trademark, copyright, and Internet IP topics before Intellectual property organizations, business groups and companies. In addition, he was recently Co-Director of DePaul University College of Law’s Technology & Intellectual Property Clinic. He has served as a member of the Consumer Trust, Consumer Choice and Competition working group and implementation review group, and served as Vice Chair of the Policy and Implementation Non-PDP Working Group of the GNSO.
