1net or /1net was an open collaborative initiative to provide a platform for discussion on topics surrounding Internet Governance.[1] The project was started after a group of organizations, including ICANN, IANA, ISOC, and W3C came together for a meeting in October 2013 and released what came to be known as the Montevideo Statement.[2] The statement made a number of high-level points regarding Internet technical operations, and 1net began as an open forum to further discuss these issues. In November 2013, at ICANN 48, both organized and hallway conversations took place regarding the future and direction of 1net. It was variously referred to as a "platform", a "movement," and more simply as a mailing list.[3]

The mailing list continued to host active discussions through 2015, after which volume on the mailing list decreased dramatically.[4]
